Vol. 207 No. 12

Committee on Finance. - Vote 1—President's Establishment.

I move:

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £850 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1964, for the Salaries and Expenses of the Office of the Secretary to the President, and for certain other Expenses of the President's Establishment, including a Grant-in-Aid."

This arose from two unexpected items. One was a visit by the President to Rome for the coronation of the Pope and the second was his attendance at President Kennedy's funeral in America. The Rome visit cost about £250 and the visit to America about £600.

Vote put and agreed to.
