Vol. 210 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kinsale Water Supply.

33.

asked the Minister for Local Government (a) whether enquiries have been submitted by Kinsale Urban District Council to his Department regarding the inadequacy of the present town water supply, (b) if an inspector of his Department has examined the present supply, and (c) if any proposals have been transmitted to the Urban District Council regarding its possible improvement.

(a) A report to the effect that the supply was inadequate was received; (b) inspections were made by an engineering inspector of my Department; and (c) special tests of the supply system are being carried out. Results to date suggest that the existing system should be capable of supplying the present demand if the defects in the distribution system are remedied.
