I move that the Bill be now read a Second Time. The purpose of this Bill is to give legislative effect to the five per cent increase which was awarded, arising from the 1963 Budget, in service pensions and disability pensions under the Connaught Rangers (Pensions) Acts, 1936 to 1962. Payment of the increases was commenced with effect from 1st November, 1963, on the authority of a Supplementary Estimate which was approved on 28th November, 1963. The annual cost of the increase is about £100.
