Vol. 212 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Unit Trust.

67.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has been requested to give licence or other facilities towards the establishment in Ireland of an Irish Unit Trust; if so, if he will state his decision in respect of the facilities sought; and, if he rejected such request, the reasons for his rejection.

The reply to the first part of the question is no; the other parts of the question do not, therefore, arise.

There is at present no statutory control in this country over the establishment of unit trusts. Persons desiring to establish such trusts do not, therefore, require a licence or an official authorisation of any kind.
