asked the Minister for Lands if he will indicate the interim progress of his Department's forestry programme in South West Cork.

The total area planted by the Forestry Division of my Department in South West Cork, to date is 11,740 acres and a further planting programme of 1,308 acres has been arranged for the forests in the area in the current year. The number of men currently employed at the forests is 200.

In the 12 months ending March, 1964, a total productive area of 876 acres was acquired for State Forestry purposes in the area. The total area on offer to the Forestry Division at present in South West Cork is 8,254 acres.
