Detailed engineering and valuation surveys of the Corrib-Mask catchment have been carried out and the preparation of a design and estimate of cost of a scheme is at present in progress. If the scheme is found to be feasible and economic, the requirements of the Arterial Drainage Act in regard to exhibition locally, consideration of observations of interested parties, consultations with other Government Departments and confirmation by the Minister for Finance will then have to be complied with and accordingly at this stage it is not possible to say when work is likely to commence.
