Vol. 214 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Temperature of School Classrooms.

66.

asked the Minister for Education what is considered to be a reasonable temperature for national school classrooms.

It appears that a temperature of about 60 degrees Fahrenheit is considered reasonable.

Will the Minister say what steps he takes to ensure that this temperature is maintained in the average school?

There is a Department of Education rule on the matter and the enforcement of this rule is helped by the teachers' organisations.

Big sticks.
