asked the Minister for Local Government if he will indicate for each year since 1957 the total number of (1) local authority officers and (2) local authority servants, indicating those who are (a) permanent and (b) temporary.
Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authority Officers and Servants.
As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.

The figures shown are the average number of officers and servants employed by local authorities. A breakdown between permanent and temporary staff is not possible from the information available in my Department.
Columns (a) show figures of staff for whom I am the appropriate Minister. Columns (b) relate to staff for whom other Ministers are the appropriate Ministers. The figures do not include those employed by Vocational Education Committees or County Committees of Agriculture.
