Vol. 216 No. 2

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Business in the following order: Nos. 1, 14, 4, 15—Votes 48 and 49—5, 16, 6 and 17.

Is it proposed to introduce a Bill this session to amend the Workmen's Compensation Acts?

I could not answer that question.

It will be introduced and circulated.

Why does there seem to be such delay with the Bill?

It is very complicated.

Is it not a fact that the Bill has been cleared by the Minister's Department quite some time ago?

It is a fact that the Bill is being drafted. It is not drafted.

Are Votes Nos. 8 and 9 added to the list?

Votes Nos. 48 and 49.

But Votes Nos. 8 and 9 were subsequently added.

I have not got them on this list.

They were subsequently given to me.

I think there was some objection by somebody else.

I do not think there was agreement. Can the Minister for Social Welfare say whether or not it is proposed to change the title "Workmen's Compensation"? Was there any such suggestion? I got a communication from the Taoiseach relating to the Occupational Injuries Bill.

That is the same Bill. It will be an extension of the social insurance scheme.

The two Votes Nos. 8 and 9 are being added.

I thought they were not.

Apparently some agreement has been made. I think these matters should be cleared the day before. It is unfair that at the last minute somebody should decide to dump in a couple of extra items.
