Vol. 216 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Burtonport (Donegal) Harbour.

22.

asked the Minister for Finance if it is proposed to carry out repairs to the harbour and pier at Burtonport, County Donegal; and, if so, when.

The scheme of improvements under consideration for Burtonport harbour comprises the provision of a new jetty and breakwater and some rock excavation. Based on the results of a boring survey, which have just come to hand, detailed plans and estimate of cost for the proposed scheme will be prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works and furnished to the sponsoring Department —Department of Agriculture, Fisheries Division.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary give any indication as to when these works are likely to begin?

The relevant details that arose on the investigations made by the Office of Public Works have been supplied to the Fisheries Division of the Department of Agriculture.

They are actually supplied?

I am grateful to the Parliamentary Secretary.

I am sorry; detailed plans and estimate of cost will be prepared.

It will be done in the near future?
