Under the Tourist Traffic Acts 1939-63, Bord Fáilte may make grants for various purposes connected with the development of tourism, e.g. for the development of holiday accommodation, development of resorts, the provision of amenities and facilities at resorts, the training of staff, the formation of companies, etc.
In discharge of its functions under the Shannon Free Airport Development Company Limited Act, 1959, the company may make grants for a variety of purposes to encourage or facilitate the establishment and carrying on of commercial, industrial and trading enterprises at Shannon Airport.
