asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state with reference to the proposed housing scheme at Slane, County Meath (a) the date on which the scheme was submitted to him by Meath County Council for sanction, (b) the date on which it was sanctioned, and (c) the reason for the delay in giving his sanction.

A proposal for the development of sites for private housing at Slane was first submitted to my Department by Meath County Council on 9th July, 1963. The proposal was the subject of correspondence with the council in regard to road access to the site and its integration with the existing village, and with planning objectives for the area. I am still awaiting the submission by the housing authority of reports on these matters which were requested early in 1964.
Would the Minister say that the cause of the hold up is the refusal of Meath County Council to supply the particulars for which they have been asked?
At the moment that is the way the matter stands. The information requested has not yet been supplied.
