At forests where there is a prospect of future redundancy of staff, it is a general policy not to replace members of the labour staff who voluntarily leave their employment; this helps to safeguard the employment of the remaining staff.
This situation exists at present at certain forests in County Donegal but the position regarding employment is always subject to review in relation to current work requirements and the prospects of future acquisitions of land.
