asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of pensions, children's allowances and welfare allowances payable at the General Post Office, Dublin, weekly or monthly as the case may be.

The average number of social welfare orders paid at the General Post Office, Dublin, is as follows:—Old age pensions, 772 weekly; old age contributory pensions, 632 weekly; widows' and orphans' pensions, 846 weekly; children's allowances, 3,170 monthly.

Figures are not available for the actual number of payments to recipients as distinct from the number of orders paid. Two or more orders are frequently paid to a recipient as one transaction.
