Vol. 219 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly Road Improvement.

13.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received a rural improvement scheme application in respect of a road at Garryhinch, Portarlington, Offaly, to be tarred and surfaced from the mill bridge to the harbour at Garryhinch in the electoral district of Hammer-lane; if an estimate of cost has been made; if so, how much must be contributed by the users of this road; and when the work will commence as the county engineer has not been notified to date to deal with it.

An application has been received for the repair of the road referred to. A report and estimate of cost has been made and is at present under consideration. The amount of the local contribution has not yet been decided. It is proposed to make an offer of grant later, in connection with next year's programme of schemes.
