Vol. 219 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Foxford (Mayo) Streets.

60.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the deplorable condition of the streets in the town of Foxford, County Mayo; and what steps he proposes to take to have this situation remedied.

I understand that the streets will be reinstated when the sewerage scheme in the town is completed in the near future.

Would the Minister take some steps to see that, for the time being, the potholes, many of which are six inches deep, will be attended to before the roads and the streets are tarmacadamed so as to give the people a chance of getting through the town?

That is a matter for the local authority.

Would the Minister make a telephone call to the county engineer? We do not seem to be able to do anything with him.

The Deputy should do his business in Mayo.

I am doing it very well. I have a sewerage scheme in operation for the time being.

Question No. 61 postponed.
