Vol. 219 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - River Moy Bridge.

106.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the serious hardships caused to the people of Killasser and other areas because of the delay in having a bridge erected over the River Moy at Cloonacanna, Swinford, County Mayo; and if he will take the necessary steps to have this bridge provided at an early date.

Contract documents for the construction of a new bridge at Cloonacanna were approved in November, 1964, and the question of inviting tenders for the work is a matter for the Mayo County Council.

Is the Minister aware that people have been waiting for years for this bridge, and would he kindly get on the phone to the county engineer to ask him to do something? We are being told for years the matter is being advertised and tenders are being sought. People are fed up waiting. Would the Minister get on the phone to the county engineer?

The phone is not working.

Is the Deputy not talking to him?
