Vol. 219 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tullamore Employment Exchange.

111.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware that many unemployed persons must wait outside the doors in wet weather at Tullamore employment exchange, County Offaly; and if he will arrange to have a waiting room provided for those who have business in the exchange.

So far as I am aware, unemployed persons attending at the branch employment office in Tullamore do not have to wait outside in wet weather during hours when the office it open. The public space in the office is sufficient for the number of people who attend there; there is also additional accommodation available in the fairly large hall leading into the office. I may add that neither the branch manager concerned nor my Department have received any complaints in this matter. If, however, the Deputy has received complaints I should be glad to have particulars of them and I will have them investigated.
