Proposals which involve provision for regular instruction in hygiene for pupils of national schools are at present under consideration.
Provision for theoretical and practical instruction in hygiene is made in the secondary school syllabus for physical education, but schools which do not teach this syllabus generally cater for hygiene outside the formal school curriculum or in association with the teaching of domestic science in girls' schools.
