It is not practicable to distinguish between the numbers of staff engaged on erecting lines to and installing telephones for new subscribers and staff engaged on installing additional facilities for existing subscribers. The average total number of staff employed directly on work in connection with installation of subscribers' lines was as follows: 886 in 1961, 796 in 1962, 771 in 1963, 852 in 1964 and 945 in 1965.
