asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of each of the twenty-four bodies listed in a reply of 22nd March, 1966 for the period 1945 to date (a) the total amount of interest paid by each body, (b) the interest payable in each case, on the basis of the Exchequer lending rates applicable in the period concerned, and (c) if the interest was paid out of the Central Fund.

NOTES:
(1) The figures in columns (1), (2) and (3) are the actual receipts by the Exchequer of interest and dividends in the period 1st April, 1945 to 31st March, 1966.
(2) The figures in column (4) are the computed amounts which would have been payable by the bodies concerned in the period if the Exchequer lending rate had been applicable to all capital issued from the Exchequer to these bodies over the period. In cases where share capital was involved, as distinct from Exchequer advances, the Exchequer lending rate would not be applicable. In the case of some Exchequer advances the bodies concerned were exempted under specific legislation from payment of interest for particular periods.
