I am aware that part of the cash contribution has been collected from the intending participants in this scheme. A letter dated 7th June, 1966, from Sligo County Council to my Department indicates that two of the proposed extensions of Ballymote regional water supply scheme will cover this area and that this would be a more satisfactory proposal than a group scheme. I am arranging to have the matter discussed further between the Department's inspector and the county council at an early date to decide whether the group scheme could proceed independently of the regional scheme.
