Vol. 223 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary-Waterford Industries.

37.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what proposals there are at present before his Department for the setting up of new industries in South Tipperary and West Waterford; the location of any such industries; the date they are expected to commence production; and the probable number of persons to be employed.

There are no proposals at present before my Department for the setting up of new industries in the area referred to by the Deputy.

I understand, however, that an existing firm is proposing to diversify its activities but it would be a matter for the firm concerned to decide whether and, if so, when to make an announcement in the matter.
