Vol. 225 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin School.

116.

asked the Minister for Education what the present position is regarding the erection of a new school at Booterstown, County Dublin; and what accommodation is to be provided.

Mr. O'Malley

Sketch plans for a new school for boys at Booterstown have been approved, and the Reverend Manager has been authorised to have his architect prepare working drawings and a specification, preparatory to the invitation of tenders for the building.

Accommodation will be provided for some 350 pupils in eight classrooms.

I could furnish a jeweller's shop with all the gold keys I have got for opening schools.

How many keys did the Minister get for closing schools?

The Minister would not think of selling the gold keys and getting a few pounds with which to build up the really bad schools?
