Vol. 225 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Connemara Central School.

119.

asked the Minister for Education what progress has been made to date in the erection of a centralised national school to replace the present Calla and Ballyconneelly national schools in Connemara; and when work will commence on the erection of the new school.

Mr. O'Malley

The Commissioners of Public Works hope to be in a position to furnish the manager with sketch plans for the new Ballyconneelly central school at an early date. My Department will sanction a grant towards the cost of erecting the central school when sketch plans have been prepared and when agreement on the local contribution to be provided has been reached with the manager.

I am not in a position at present to say when work on the erection of the new school will commence.
