Vol. 225 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Monaghan Land Office.

52.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will ask the Land Commission to locate an office, or at least to appoint an inspector, in County Monaghan to deal with the many Land Commission problems there which are in urgent need of attention.

Cavan town has been selected as the most suitable centre for location of Land Commission inspectors dealing with Counties Cavan and Monaghan and a new local inspectorate office was opened there two years ago. No difficulty has since been experienced in dealing with land problems in Monaghan from the Cavan centre and consequently it is not proposed to open a separate office in Monaghan. It is hoped to increase inspectorate strength in Cavan-Monaghan later on, when additional recruits become available.
