Vol. 225 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Timber Dispute.

54.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of a dispute between a person (name supplied) and his Department concerning a lot of timber at Roscrea state forest; and if he is aware that, contrary to what was stated by his Department, this person's tender for the timber in March, 1966, was not accepted, but that he was afterwards requested by the forestry authorities to buy the timber at a price of £360, of which a first instalment of £120 was paid by cheque which was cashed by the Department; and if, owing to the fact that a contract thus in fact exists between the person and his Department for the sale of the timber he will now proceed with such sale.

No contract subsists in this case and sale to the person named is not contemplated.
