The B & I, in order to provide a modern ferry service for the 1968 season, are purchasing a vessel already under construction and due for delivery by 1st May, 1968. The company had confirmed from the Liffey Dockyard Co. Ltd. that they were not in a position to build a ship of the size needed and to have it completed by the time required. The question of inviting a tender from the Liffey Dockyard did not, therefore, arise.
