Vol. 228 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Housing Scheme.

32.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that there have been grave complaints by tenants regarding faults and the badly finished condition of a scheme of 22 houses erected by contractors to Cork County Council at Carrigtwohill, County Cork; and if he will have the condition of the houses investigated by an inspector of his Department.

I understand from Cork (South) County Council that complaints were made by the tenants of this scheme, that all major defects have since been rectified, and that the remainder, which are of a minor nature, will be remedied shortly. I do not consider that an inspection by an officer of my Department at this stage is required.
