Vol. 230 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of Mayo Streams.

34.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed to carry out the drainage of streams at Rinnany, Shragheen etc. near Foxford, County Mayo under the Moy drainage scheme.

35.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the serious flooding which is caused by a stream flowing at the rere of the houses at Main Street and Providence Road, Foxford, County Mayo; and if he will take steps to have the necessary work undertaken under the Moy drainage scheme.

With your permission, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I will answer Questions No. 34 and No. 35 together.

Applications have already been received to include the channels referred to in the Moy drainage scheme. A survey is in progress, the result of which will enable a decision to be reached in either case.

Does the Minister not recall that on one occasion when he visited Foxford to open officially the Fleadh Ceoil there, he promised that all these things would be done?

That is a separate question.

I do not think so. It is very relevant.

The only thing I did when opening the Fleadh Ceoil in Swinford was to quote extensively and eloquently from "Mise Raifteiri an File".
