asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the Hogan estate at Kilfrush, County Limerick.
With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Question Nos. 43 and 44 together.
I would refer the Deputies to my reply to a previous question on 19th of last month regarding this property which is described as a stud farm. The Land Commission recently endeavoured to purchase a substantial portion—217 acres—of the property but their offer proved unacceptable to the owner. I am aware that further developments may be pending but I do not feel free to comment on them to-day.
