The only grant from State funds towards the Castlebar airport project is a priming grant of £4,000 made by Bord Fáilte. In addition, I have approved a maximum grant of £20,700 from the Special Regional Development Fund towards the cost of extending the airport. This grant will be paid if certain difficulties which have been encountered in relation to the runway crossing the public road are overcome.
