asked the Minister for Education if satisfactory transport arrangements have been made for the conveyance of children from Dawstown and other outlying districts who have to walk over three miles to Blarney national schools, County Cork.

Córas Iompair Éireann have been requested by my Department to make the necessary arrangements to establish a transport service from the Dawstown and other outlying districts to the schools at Blarney and the Reverend Manager of these schools was advised accordingly.

It is understood that the majority of the children have been given free transport on the scheduled bus service to Blarney, and the remainder will be accommodated by the provision of a minibus as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Education if satisfactory transport arrangements have been made for the conveyance of children from Carrigaloe, Rushbrooke and other outlying districts to Cobh national schools, County Cork.

Córas Iompair Éireann were asked recently by my Department to make the necessary arrangements to establish a transport service from the Carrigaloe, Rushbrooke and other outlying districts to the schools at Cobh. The Reverend Manager has been informed accordingly. It is understood that this service will be put into operation at an early date.

asked the Minister for Education if his Department have now come to a decision to continue to keep Belvelly national schools, County Cork in operation; and what repairs, if any, are required.

The educational facilities for pupils in the Belvelly and Cobh areas are at present being investigated by an inspector of my Department. The whole position will be considered in conjunction with his report and a decision will then be taken.
