A Cheann Comhairle, I beg leave to state, for the information of the Dáil,
(1) that, having informed the President that Dáil Éireann had approved my nomination of Deputy Pádraig Faulkner to be a member of the Government, the President today appointed him accordingly; and;
(2) that, in accordance with my announcement earlier today, I have terminated the previous assignments of the Departments of Justice, Education, Lands and the Gaeltacht, and have assigned these Departments as follows, with effect from tomorrow:
The Department of Justice to Deputy Michael Moran,
The Department of Education to Deputy Brian Joseph Lenihan
and
The Department of Lands and the Department of the Gaeltacht to Deputy Pádraig Faulkner.
