A scheme for the improvement of the road referred to was submitted by Kerry County Council to my Department in December, 1966, and approved in principle in January, 1967, for execution under the council's main road improvement grant, 1966-67. The council notified the Department in March, 1967, that it would not be possible to carry out the work in 1966-67 due to land acquisition difficulties. I understand from the council that these difficulties have not yet been resolved and it is not therefore possible to indicate when work on the scheme will commence.
