There has been no undue delay in the examination by my Department of these tender proposals, which involve costs of the order of £500 per house over the approved estimated cost. On this basis the cost of the schemes would be entirely excessive. A detailed review of the proposals is proceeding, in conjunction with the housing authority, to see what can be done to have them provided at a more reasonable cost.
