Vol. 236 No. 2

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 1, 2, 7 and 9.

No. 1, the Tourist Traffic Bill, will be taken after No. 9, and will be circulated later, I understand.

On the Order of Business, is the Taoiseach aware that the Parliamentary Secretary gave us a guarantee last Thursday evening that the Minister for Local Government would stop before a particular hour? Is that being honoured this evening?

It is, of course.

It is being honoured. I am glad to know the Minister is doing that, because we know he refused to sit down for the Taoiseach last Thursday at 4.45 p.m., although he was ordered to do so.

Sit down yourself.

Deputy L'Estrange's assertion is as true and as well founded as others he has made. I gave no such direction.

The Taoiseach certainly did. We know about it. We were told by some of his own Cabinet Ministers. He certainly did.

Do not be such an old woman.

Will Deputy L'Estrange please resume his seat?

We might have to play lost time.

What guarantee does Deputy L'Estrange want? We will sit here until August if he likes.

You are trying to drag it out.

You cannot have it both ways.

You did not have it your way. The straight vote taught you a lesson.

Are you for it?

You should hang your head now.

Are you for it? Are you changing your mind?

The chips were down and you got your answer.
