† Inadvertently understated in a previous reply.

NOTES: 1. Estates marked with an asterisk have already-been partly allotted.

2. It is not possible at present to indicate when the individual estates mentioned will be allotted but there will be no avoidable delay. The necessary local enquiries preliminary to allotment are being pushed forward as rapidly as circumstances permit.

108.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission are considering acquiring the Moore estate, Frayne, Athboy, County Meath, for which a preliminary notice of sale has appeared in the local papers.

109.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission have acquired the Higgins estate, Frayne, Athboy, County Meath; and, if so, when it is proposed to divide it.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 108 and 109 together.

There are no proceedings for the acquisition of either of these two properties. In the case of the Moore estate—242 acres—arrangements are being made to have an inspection carried out and the requisite notice under the Land Act, 1965, has been served on the owner.

As regards the Higgins estate—140 acres—certain inquiries are being made at present.
