Vol. 236 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Minister's Visit to Wales.

124.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will make a full statement on his recent visit to Wales stating the purpose of the visit, the results he hopes to achieve and who accompanied him on his trip.

At the invitation of the Secretary of State for Wales I visited Wales last week for the purpose of seeing how a variety of problems are being tackled there. I was particularly interested in forestry, industrial, economic, social, cultural and linguistic problems similar to those confronting me as Minister for Lands and for the Gaeltacht. I am satisfied that the experience gained will be of considerable value in discharging the functions of my Departments. I was accompanied by the Secretaries of both Departments.
