Vol. 237 No. 14

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: No. 8, and in it Vote 37 and the supplementary Estimate, and No. 9. Questions will be taken at 3 p.m. For the information of the House, I wish to say that as ordered yesterday the Agriculture Estimate and the supplementary Estimate will finish this evening, the Minister to be called on to reply not later than 8 p.m. If a division is challenged, it will be taken after 10.30 p.m. The Minister for Local Government will be called on to conclude the Electoral (Amendment) Bill, Second Stage, not later than 9.15 p.m. If a division is challenged on this Bill it, also, will be taken after 10.30 p.m. It has been agreed between the whips that tomorrow morning the Estimate for the Gaeltacht will be concluded and then all Estimates remaining on the Order Paper will be put without debate. All stages of the Appropriation Bill will then be taken. Token Estimates will be introduced, if required, in the next session to allow discussion on the Estimates which were passed without debate. The Imposition of Duties Bill will follow the Appropration Bill and will conclude not later than 4 p.m. when questions will be taken. The House will then adjourn.

Until which date?

There will be a meeting on 21st January, a special meeting to commemorate the First Dáil. It is hoped to meet thereafter on the Tuesday week following, 4th February, 1969.
