Vol. 238 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - County Sligo School.

57.

asked the Minister for Education when the new school for Protestant children will be erected at Markree estate, Collooney, County Sligo; and what stage plans for such a school have reached.

A site has been offered by the Reverend Manager for a new central school for Protestant children at Collooney, and the Commissioners of Public Works have been asked to have the site surveyed and, if it is suitable, to prepare sketch plans and an estimate of cost for the new building.

The Commissioners will have the site surveyed and the planning undertaken as soon as possible. I have asked that everything possible be done to expedite the commencement of building operations.

Can the Minister say where the site is?

It does not say here, but it is in Collooney. What had the Deputy in mind?

I was wondering was it on the Markree Estate? That is where they were looking for the site.

I can write to the Deputy telling him the exact location.
