The gross national product figures referred to in the question are averages of two sets of figures, one based on output data and the other based on expenditure data. Both sets of figures and the averages for 1958-1967 are shown in Table 1, page 3, of National Income and Expenditure, 1967. Corresponding figures for 1947-1957, based on expenditure data only, are shown in Table B. 6, page 94, of the same publication. Gross national product figures, based on output data, are not available, however, for 1947-1957. Consequently, it is not possible to give the average of figures based on output and expenditure data for these years. It would be a very onerous task to compile figures for gross national product at constant market prices, based on output data, for these years.
