Vol. 239 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Dental Hospital.

51.

asked the Minister for Education if there is any proposal for the provision of a new dental hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is proposed to build two new dental hospitals, one in Dublin and one in Cork. The planning of the Dublin project is the responsibility of the Dublin Dental Hospital Board and my Department is in correspondence with that body at present concerning the siting of the building and the preparation of a schedule of accommodation for it. With regard to the Cork project, the position is that the Cork Hospitals Board has responsibility to plan, erect and equip a regional hospital and a dental hospital on a site at Wilton, Cork. I understand that a schedule of accommodation for the Cork Dental Hospital is to be submitted shortly by the board for approval.
