Vol. 239 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Status of Women.

1.

asked the Taoiseach if he has received a memorandum on behalf of a number of women's organisations recommending the setting up of a national commission on the status of women; and what action he proposes to take on the matter.

I have received a memorandum of the nature mentioned by the Deputy. Departmental consideration of the memorandum has not yet been completed, and I will communicate with those concerned as soon as such examination is completed.

Can the Taoiseach give any idea when it is expected to have the consideration completed?

Shortly. I think practically all the Departments except one have submitted their observations.

The Taoiseach has been reinforcing himself with the sun to meet the ladies.
