The current revenue and expenditure of the Exchequer for the year ended 31st March, 1969, were, respectively, £345,479,707 and £353,848,000.
The outturn for the year was substantially as estimated in the Financial Statement made by the Taoiseach on 5th November last. At that time the House was informed that extra expenditure on public service pay, aids to agriculture and other liabilities would have to be met by the Exchequer in the year.
