The Government deplore the fact that Greece is not ruled by a democratically elected parliament and government and earnestly hope that constitutional democracy will be restored as quickly as possible.
Would the Minister state if he will be attending a meeting of Ministers in the next week or two where this matter will be discussed, and could he indicate to the House what is his attitude towards a member of his own Party, Deputy MacEntee, who has become a notoriety in Europe because of his reactionary attitude towards the Greek regime? Could the Minister state what his attitude will be when he attends this meeting?

What will be the Minister's attitude at this meeting to proposals to break off relations between the Council of Europe and the Greek regime?

I hope to attend the meeting of Ministers in the Council of Europe within a couple of weeks. As the Deputy is aware, the Commission on Human Rights are at present engaged in inquiring into certain allegations that are being made against the Greek Government. That commission have not reported yet. We hope that the commission will report before long. We also hope that constitutional democracy will be restored in Greece as quickly as possible.
Am I to take it from the Minister's reply that when considering the desirable restoration of full democratic processes in Greece, there will be an opportunity at that meeting of Ministers of considering the suspension of democratic processes in Czechoslovakia not new to any Czechoslovakian?
