In the case of certain of the Dairy Disposal Company's premises, I have already given approval in principle for their transfer to co-operative ownership and negotiations in this connection have been initiated between the company and the co-operative interests concerned. I would visualise other similar transfers taking place according as rationalisation of the creamery industry progresses in the areas where the company at present operates. It is intended that, while withdrawing from some of these traditional dairying areas, the company should in other areas become associated in a development capacity with co-operative creamery societies which may be unable from their own resources immediately to undertake the rationalisation of the creamery industry and the provision of processing facilities.
