With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 41 and 42 together.
Regulations made in 1963 by the Minister for Local Government require that car windows be so maintained as not to obscure the vision of the driver. The regulations specially mention unessential stickers. No recent instruction has been issued to the Force concerning the enforcement of these regulations.
It is of course possible, and would be in accordance with normal practice, that a reminder about this or any other law or regulation may have been recently given in any locality by a local officer, inspector or sergeant but no information to that effect is available to me.
No separate records are kept of prosecutions for such offences.
