Vol. 239 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Estates.

37.

asked the Minister for Lands the up-to-date position with regard to the acquisition and division of the Moran estate, Pass, Clonmel, County Tipperary.

Possession of an area of 88 acres on this estate passed to the Land Commission last January. A composite scheme of division has been formulated for this area and 50 acres previously acquired on the estate—and it is hoped that the combined area (138 acres) will be allotted within the next few weeks.

38.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Tobin lands at Newcastle, Clonmel, will be allotted; and the reason for the delay in bringing about the relief of congestion in this area.

I understand that most of the essential preliminary inquiries on the ground in connection with the resale of this 64-acre property have been completed and work on the preparation of a scheme of division is well advanced. However, the Land Commission are, as yet, in possession only under a temporary letting agreement pending clearance of the owner's title—and final allocation cannot be effected until the lands vest in the Land Commission.
