With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to reply to Questions Nos. 78, 79, 80 and 81 together.

My sanction to payment of the "11th Round" increase of nine per cent in remuneration to nurses (and other officers) in the service of local Health Authorities was conveyed on 7th January last. I have accepted the arbitrator's recent award in relation to a revision, with effect from 1st June last, of salaries of nursing staffs in the local health authority service, and the necessary detailed instructions for the implementing of the award will issue in the next few days. I am also authorising the application of the award to nursing staffs employed in the voluntary hospitals participating in the hospitals deficits scheme.
